Over 25s looking for a memorable night out in Bangor can enjoy great music, entertainment every night and a retro club scene at Nelsons Bar Mocha.
Located at the Marine Court Hotel, along Bangor’s seafront, Nelsons Bar Mocha offers two venues in one with entertainment at Nelsons Bar every night and a weekend of clubbing at the adjoining Bar Mocha.
Nelsons Bar
This Bangor venue has recently been refurbished and updated with Nelsons Bar offering coffee and drinks during the day from its two tier premises, which offer magnificent views over Belfast Lough.
In the evenings Nelsons Bar offers a busy programme of social events kicking off with the regular sports nights on Mondays and Tuesdays when all the top matches are shown on the two widescreen televisions in the bar.
On Wednesdays DJ Trevor hosts a popular quiz in the bar with a top prize of £20 and half price wine, entry fee £1.
On Thursdays Nelsons Bar opens its doors to up and coming talent in the town with its ‘Open Mic Night’ which allows bands, singers, stand ups etc. to perform in front of a live audience. All acts must be pre-booked by phoning 07980 036874.
Nelsons Bar Mocha
At weekends Nelsons Bar Mocha opens its doors to clubbers with Bar Mocha hosting a night of Pure Disco in the company of DJ Tony on Fridays, whilst Saturdays in Bar Mocha are ‘Groovejet’ night with DJ Jerry.
Weekends are just as lively in Nelsons Bar where the resident DJ keeps the beat going with ‘The best of the best’, and on Saturdays there’s ‘Disco Mania’ with DJ John.
Wind-down Sundays in Nelsons Bar is spent in the company of The Smugglers who offer a popular set of folk style music each week from 6pm.
Both Nelsons Bar and Bar Mocha serves a wide selection of drinks including beers, wines and a fantastic selection of cocktails. Each cocktail is made with fresh ingredients and squeezed fruit juice to add to the flavour. For those whose tastes are a little less exotic, there are half price wine nights every Wednesday and Friday.
