Whether you are after films, comedy, one-man shows, music, workshops or art exhibitions they are bound to have something on - from the latest Harry Potter film, Theatre Workshops & live music to a photographic exhibition you really SHOULD take time out to visit Chipping Norton Theatre.
In 2009 Chipping Norton Theatre has had shows featuring an Abba Tribute Band, Any Questions with Jonathan Dimbleby, Magic and a "cut to the bone" Hamlet - to name just a very FEW. As well as The Theatre, there is a thriving and busy bar serving drinks both before the show and during the interval - a light & airy upstairs exhibition space and, next to the attractive Box Office a Craft Shop displaying items for sale including handmade jewellery, ceramics, pashminas etc made by a local Arts Group.
Open now is the new "Corporate Space" - ideal for meetings, brainstorming sessions etc that will benefit from the creative atmosphere of a Theatre.
As well as a tremendously varied and vibrant programme all year round, Chipping Norton Theatre is nationally famous for its absolutely brilliant annual pantomime! Written in 2008 by Graeme Garden of The Goodies fame, and in 2009 by Ben Crocker, who was until recently Artistic Director of The Northcott in Exeter - the pantomime is a sell out year after year.
Chipping Norton Theatre is a real asset to the whole of the Cotswolds & local residents are extremely proud to have it in their town.People have been known to retire to The Cotswolds just to be near to Chipping Norton Theatre and have access to such a wide spectrum of the arts!
