A Welshpool family business providing fresh cakes and pastries for over 40 years...
The Pinewood has been owned and run by the Evans family for over 40 years.
Mervyn bought 4 Broad Street in 1961 - it was then know as the Blue Café. This was developed into a modern coffeehouse of the 60's. In 1963, 3 Broad Street was bought and developed into a bakery shop. Later in 1967 Mervyn bought the Pub next door known as the Boars Head, which is now the Pinewood Tavern.
Their reputation grew in Montgomeryshire, Shropshire and Cheshire. They even went as far as Blackpool and Birmingham. They gave up the outdoor catering in the mid 70's to solely concentrate on the Pinewood business.
The large premises in Broad Street re-opened in 2009 after extensive refurbishment and offers a welcoming place to enjoy morning teas and light luncheons.
Every day they offer a delicious selection of;

Home made cakes, fresh cream cakes, hot pasties and pies, a delightful range of freshly made sandwiches and rolls to order, a salad bar, ice-cream and if that was not enough to chose from, they even offer a fab all-day breakfast!

You can eat in at this delightful Bakery or take away....
