European funded project
SEMTA Tailor Made Training
Myrick Training Services has tendered and been successful to become a provider for the SEMTA Tailor Made Training Project for delivery in mid and north Wales. The funding being piloted in Wales is part of a project involving sector skills organisations, namely, SEMTA, Proskills and Cogent. It has also received additional support from the European Social Fund and can be accessed until 30th November 2011.
The project aims to encourage local businesses to work with training providers to target and support training outcomes that are bespoke, meet individual training needs of the learner and develop the business of the employer. Participating companies will need to show that training has a positive effect on company development outputs such as turnover, but is not restricted to financial or increased employee numbers. The project will be of particular interest where companies have non-accredited training. By taking part in the project it is possible to evaluate this training and award it accreditation which will give it credit value that can be used towards other full awards, certificates or diplomas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for member companies and clients to build qualifications around their specific business requirements and so enhance the value of their in-house training plans with nationally recognised accreditation.
Myrick Training Services are networking with Glyndwr University and Yale College in a partnership that will develop qualifications which will also include Further and Higher Education in developing potentially sector leading practice from grass roots to degree level.
The project can fund schemes of work of up to 70% of the course and development costs. The funding for SMEs is 70% and the funding for non SMEs is 50%.
