Muscular pain relief: No more waiting! A fully qualified therapist and masseuse, available when you want him to be!
The nagging agony of lower or upper back pain, a frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, whiplash, sciatica, RSI and many other joint or muscular aches and pains can be relieved, reduced – and even vanish altogether – if professional treatment is received ‘on demand’ and when required.
Ryan Jones is a sports and soft tissue massage therapist, who studied and qualified through ITEC, with a Level 3 Diploma.
A keen and enthusiastic sportsman, Ryan has suffered numerous injuries himself over the years, and has benefitted from the ministrations of other therapists on the road to recovery, many times over.
In fact, it was being on the receiving end of so many treatments that first kindled an interest into qualifying as a therapist himself.
“I know how it feels to be in real pain with an injury. And I also know, from first-hand experience, that you can’t always get the treatment you need – when you need it most – from the NHS.
When I first became interested in therapy as a profession, I was amazed at how many people I found I knew who were actually seeking or waiting for treatment themselves.”
Ryan is from Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran. He met Sam, now his fiancée, at school when he was just 16-years-old – and they’ve been together ever since.
Ryan’s first job on leaving school was at the Harvester Restaurant in Pontypool, before becoming a Healthcare Assistant with Lloyds Pharmacy, and then a Computer Network Engineer with Engage IT.
More recently, he’s been a Debt Recovery Officer for Monmouthshire County Council (for five-years,) based in County Hall, Cwmbran.
A sports enthusiast, his hobbies and interests include football, running, golf, tennis, athletics, boxing, snooker and going to the gym. (It’s not all about sport though, as he also lists ‘the pub’ and ‘eating,’ amongst his many likes!)
He’s equally passionate about his profession, choosing to call it more of a vocation than an occupation.
“Treatment to and of the injured or painful area promotes circulation, regulates soft tissue and helps prevent further damage. It’s not restricted to sporting injuries – but a full assessment is an absolute requirement before any treatment can be considered – and a full postural assessment is included in the first session. If you already have a medically diagnosed condition, your GP will advise you as to whether or not a sports massage is advisable.
Likewise, your GP will refer patients to a massage therapist if they consider it to be non-intrusive to the care already being received or considered. Physiotherapists will also refer clients to sport therapists – as they only work on stretching the body and not massaging the soft tissue, back to good health.”
Ryan’s’ treatments are administered at his home-clinic or at the clients’ home. Sessions are from 30-minutes to an hour, depending on the severity of the condition – and cost shouldn’t be a factor, as sessions start from as little as £15.00’s. The number of sessions and the amount and type of after-care required, is determined by the nature of the injury or painful area, and/or the patient and Ryan, in consultation.
“This is more than just a business, this is my chosen way of life. I want to help alleviate un-necessarily prolonged pain – and I care deeply about the wants and needs of my patients, and will respect them, at all times. Every patient is assured maximum ‘personal privacy,’ respect and discretion.
Ryan’s’ ‘Touch of Healing’ clinic was only formed in January 2012.
By the end of his first trading month, he had already attained more than twenty-five clients – largely, following word-of-mouth referrals.
This quietly-spoken, gentle-natured man is keen to establish himself as a trusted practitioner of massage. Seems like he’s already made a pretty-good impression!
