Summerhill Veterinary Centre - Newport finest!
. . . . . .
Just look at the testimonials accompanying this feature!
The Veterinary Centre was established in the latter part of the 1960's by Jean Morris, in the basement of a house adjacent to the present surgery, which is located at 43 Summerhill Avenue. Since 1998, the practice has been owned by Jamie Allen - but Jean is still very much a part of the day-to-day trials and tribulations! Since its humble beginnings, the reputation for excellence, friendly and dedicated professional care has continued to such an extent, that the Centre has had to be extended three times. In 2005 a formerly derelict site adjacent to the surgery was acquired and now serves as a spacious car park.
The Summerhill Centre is serviced by eight veterinary and twenty support staff, who are all committed to helping you enjoy the company of your pets. There are extensive facilities on site to deal with virtually any pet related problem. The centre is open 7 days a week and they are fully-equipped to treat your pets if they are ill - and help you keep them healthy when they are not! Your pet is also able to receive immediate emergency treatment, and specialist help is easily arranged.
There are many veterinary surgeries and centres in Newport. "We are different because we take a very active part in the Newport community. We believe in prevention rather than cure, and help people to keep their pets in the best possible condition, rather than just treating sick or injured animals.
We have regular open days, when visitors are encouraged to just 'pop-in,' whether to ask us a question, take a tour of the surgery or just to meet the various animals currently under care! We're more than 'just a vets!' - We're an information centre, all year-round! We produce newsletters containing all kinds of relevant local information and our website is full of useful tips and links that we think pet owners may want or need to know - including a lost and found section for helping to reunite owners with their lost pets. We really do want you to get the most from your pets and, as important, for them to get the most from you.
Although we are one of Newports' premier vet centres, we recognise the need for other communities in the Newport area to have access to quality vets on their own doorsteps. With that in mind, we also work in conjunction with other veterinary practices in the Newport and surrounding areas."
