Welcome to Richard Bidmead - Massage Therapist

Massage is not a self-indulgence but essential self-maintenance. Sure, it helps relaxation, releases tension, reduces stress and anxiety - but it also alleiviates and relieves depression, aids recovery from injury and illness, improves digestion, increases circulation and assists the body in cleansing itself of waste products - giving you the most wonderful sense of well-being!

Richard (Tig) Bidmead has been a fully-qualified masseur since the late 1990's. Trained and qualified under the guidance and instruction of Darien Pritchard, one of the most eminent teachers of body work and massage in the United Kingdom, and founder-member of the Massage Training Institute (MTI) of Great Britain. He also continues to receive instruction from a monthly training supervison and undergoes an annual assessment from the MTI.

Tig's current clientele have been referred to him by a wide range of professional associates, including the likelier sources - physiotherapists, to the more unlikely - solicitors, - but his most constant source of referral is 'by word-of-mouth.'

"For many years I was a landscape designer, working for local government. Although I was regarded as 'good at what I did' (and I did enjoy the work!) I was and am, always more interested in the complicated workings of the human body and mind.

In the early 1990's I decided I'd rather spend my time making people feel better, than making the landscape look better! It was something of a gamble to change the direction of my career at that time - but I did, and I have never regretted doing so!"

There are such a wide range of massage techniques available, to remedy a huge spectrum of the bodys' disorders.

There used to be a perception that massage was just a pampering-session for those with the spare-time and money to indulge themselves with. In more recent times however, the real value of the many different types of massage available, have been recognised and utilised by a much wider section of the population.

Of course you can still have a simple, relaxing pampering! Why not? We live in stressful times! But massage can also be a very precise exploration of muscles and joints, often identifying underlying problems with mobility or injury - and can involve a much more intense level of work, without discomfort to the patient.

From infants to the very ancient, (my youngest ever client was five-months-old - the eldest to date, 95-years-old!) there is a massage therapy to suit, that will enrich and enhance your general well-being.

In short, massage will help you get much more out of life! It re-news, repairs, relaxes - enabling you to re-live and enjoy!"

Clients can receive treatment at Tigs' home-clinic in Newport, at his clinic in Cardiff Bay, or at their own home or place of work.

"The 'where' is not the important factor. If you're suffering with almost any physical or mental discomfort, the sooner you act, the more chance you have of a speedier recovery or improvement."
