You need new shelves putting-up? Electrical sockets installed? Gas supply and appliances tested, and certified? Garden, cleared or replanted? Patio/paths power-washed? Hall and stairs redecorated? New wall-paper hung? Woodwork painted? (Combi) Boilers serviced? Small re-wiring job?
They can be! Jeff doesn’t charge for providing no-obligation fixed-fee estimates or quotations and will attend your property, at your convenience, to survey the work required.
“It doesn’t matter what the job is.” Says Jeff. “But I take great pride in the work I do, and I’m the most hard-to-please critic of my own work. I won’t be satisfied with anything less than providing exactly what my customers want, every time!”
Perhaps it’s because of this ethic that Jeff is constantly in demand. His reputation has been hard-earned and, more importantly, well-earned! “It’s a matter of personal pride in what I do. I’ve never had a disgruntled customer – and I don’t ever want to have one!”
A ‘local-boy’ - as he puts it – Jeff is a firm believer in buying-local, whenever he can. His roots are firmly in the local community, and he’s only ever worked away from home for a short-period of time – as a metallurgist, first in Saunders Valves in Cwmbran, followed by an 18-month-spell in the Midlands.
On his return home to Abersychan, he held several positions including: School teacher, (Abersychan Comprehensive – where he was also a pupil, “Once-upon-a time!”) a foundry manager, and a mortgage advisor, before working with the Newport Chamber of Commerce (Objective 1 Funding).
In 2007 he qualified as a Gas-Safe Engineer, and, with his Part-P (17th Edition) electrical qualification, combined with his many other DIY skills, JH Consulting emerged in 2008. Since then, Jeff hasn’t looked back.
He has his own property portfolio – currently working on project number 7! – and so it comes as no surprise that his services are also in demand from landlords and estate agents, and other owners of property portfolios, who require annual safety and compliance certificates, and general maintenance programs. That said, he will undertake practically ‘any work from any body’ that requires his services.
