WALES OPEN GOLF IS A FANTASTIC SUCCESS

Large crowds gathered in the summer sunshine to witness one of the best Wales Open Golf Tournaments to date. Four days of scintilating golf on the stunning 2010 course at the Celtic Manor Resort have given us a glimpse of the special atmosphere that can be expected from the Ryder Cup in October.

The Celtic Manor resort are to be congratulated on their planning and management of this year's Wales Open and we now know that the Ryder Cup in October will be the sterest of tests for he world's premiere golfers

Perhaps you should tell that to the Planning Committee of Newport City Council..... LOL what on earth has this decision cost us residents of our fair city for the Future of the city and our youngsters. We should be excited, delighted and welcoming to the world that such an event has been long in coming to Newport. Now we are on the verge of a publicity disaster when in October the Ryder Cup is being televised World-wide only to show a derelict run-down building with asbestos! next to the Club House and hole 18. OMG What an own goal this has become no wonder the more pragmatic heads have been backtracking and trying to do damage limitation. When even local Chamber of Commerce/Leaders of business in Newport are in open revolt at this despicable decision - one that I might add yes we do need to uphold our local heritage but not at the total expense for the whole of the city. report abuse...
