Newport regeneration

'City' status (at last!)

Ryder Cup 2010.

Millions being spent on regeneration and refurbishment.

All good news, for the residents and businesses of Newport. But what else needs to happen . . . and how?

Do you have any thoughts on how Newport businesses can capitalise on events? How this in turn can benefit Newports' residents?

We're looking to help Newport become more self-sufficient.

Newport businesses supporting Newport businesses, and communities. More local-spend, more local-wealth, more local-jobs . . . leading to, more local-spend . . . etc. Makes good sense doesn't it?

Agree or disagree - let us know what you think! Please!

The work to revamp Newport is long overdue. However, better late than never! Now, if only Newports businesses would grab the opportunity to make themselves known! report abuse...

I don't know about Newport regeneration but maybe Newport is generating lottery winners, not least the lucky couple who won £45 million on the weekend. With a number of lottery winners in recent years it seems that Newport could be the place to buy your lottery ticket. I know the next time I'm in Newport I will certainly be buying my lotto, after all you never know your luck. Congratulations and goodluck to Les & Samantha Scadding on their win although if it was me I don't think I would have gone public. I think people are bound to treat them differently now so I hope they know who their real friends are. report abuse...
