To mark the bi-centenary of the Captain Barclay 1,000 mile walk in 1,000 hours, members of the public are invited to take part in a weekend of walking events including the twenty to one hundred mile challenge commencing 3.37pm on Saturday and costs thirty guineas or £31.50 to enter and the Newmarket Trainers Bi-centenary Ramble over four and a half miles of the town plate course first used for racing by King Charles II in 1665 and commences at 11am and costs six guineas or £6.30 to enter.
