What is it about a Food Festival that people find irresistible? They invariably bring out a sense of adventurousness in even the most fussy eaters, with a fun atmosphere, colourful displays of food and delicious smells wafting through the air tempting us to try something new.

In every corner of the world (yes, I know it's round, but you know what I mean) holidays and celebrations almost always centre around food and drink. And of course, a Food Festival is the perfect excuse to feed your face without feeling guilty!

From Thursday 29th August to Sunday 1st September visitors to The Guineas Shopping Centre will be spoilt for choice as both local and worldwide food producers offer their delicious delicacies at the Food Festival in Newmarket.  To guarantee an exciting, family friendly day out there will also be an abundance of entertainment including Kid’s Kitchen Workshops to encourage your budding Delia or Jamie Oliver, the ‘Smoothie Bike’ where you can create your own sensational smoothies and the uplifting accompaniment of a Creole band (you can maybe dance off some excess calories consumed!)

There will be giveaways galore as The Pantry hold demonstrations of cake decorating that would surely give Mary Berry a run for her money, a ‘Molly Malone’ barrow of cockles and mussels at Fish Burwell, a fabulous Hog Roast from Rhubarb and tastings from the team at Costa Coffee.

Take home something a bit special from the World Food Market and cross your fingers that you may be the lucky winner of the £50 voucher from Eric Tennant Quality Butchers.

And if you eat to live, rather than live to eat, then check out the goodies and gadgets from Black Cat Gifts, the British Heart Foundation and Carphone Warehouse, because here there's something for everyone, whether a foodie or not!

The Guineas Shopping Centre enjoys a central location in Newmarket and is occupied by a mix of national and independent retailers offering a huge choice of goods and services.  With ample car parking and all the brands you could wish for, it’s the perfect place for a great days’ shopping.  Combine this with the Food Festival Experience and you have a recipe for a fabulous family weekend!
