Newmarket's Guineas Shopping Centre's new owners plan to return the centre to its full glory and put a stop to retailers moving out.

Property and investment company, Helical Bar finalised the deal on the centre earlier this month, buying the centre for £17.75 million.

The Guineas Shopping Centre, which had gone into administration, has seen several recent casualties, which has left vacant shop units in the heart of the arcade.

The company plans to negotiate attractive terms, varying tenancy lengths and help with fit-out costs to encourage retailers into the Centre and help them to trade profitably.

Helical Bar will also be refurbishing Guineas Shopping Centre; it will all be repainted, the lighting will be improved and the canopy cleaned.
