Once a neglected Grade II listed pub, The Carpenters Arms has been transformed into one of the finest gastro pubs in the area.
Owners, Rick and Heather Hurley returned from running an award-winning, Bottin Gourmand recommended restaurant in France at the end of 2009, taking over The Carpenters Arms in Great Wilbraham and bringing authentic, delicious French cuisine to Newmarket.
However, the English country pub has not forgotten its roots as the heart of the local community. Alongside serving fine French cuisine in the restaurant, guests can enjoy traditional pub food in our relaxing, welcoming bar.
We have a great selection of real ales, including beers from the Fulbourn brewery, Moonshine and run a popular bar billiards team.

Our Restaurant
French gastronomy is at The Carpenters Arms' core, enhanced by a range of International influences such as Catalan, Thai and Italian.
However, it's the quality of our ingredients that really makes our food special. We only source the finest meat and fish - from the local area whenever possible - and many of our vegetables, fruit and herbs are grown in the pub's garden. In fact, Heather is currently growing 14 varieties of tomatoes in her greenhouse!
Our restaurant is the ideal venue for a warm, welcoming, truly special meal with friends, family or colleagues.
