St Nicholas Hospice Care - alongside you when you need us most
St Nicholas Hospice is a charity that provides local families with help, support and advice, improving the lives of people suffering from terminal or life limiting illnesses across West Suffolk and supporting their loved ones through bereavement.
The wide range of unique services available from the charity ensure that people suffering from terminal or life limiting illnesses across Newmarket and West Suffolk can have access to support, care and health services that suit their wishes and requirements.
Inpatients are treated via the hospice's in-patient Sylvan Ward and day patients can visit The Orchard Centre, both located at the charity's headquarters behind West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.
Alternatively, St Nicholas Hospice Care's recently Community Hospice Team provide a specialist service for patients in the comfort and security of their own homes.
Other services include confidential psychological support for local adults via their Family Support Team, while Nicky's Way Programme helps children and young people dealing with the grief of a recent bereavement.

Community Hospice Team
Only recently launched, St Nicholas Hospice Care's Community Hospice Team has already helped over 1,500 local people in their own home.
Its focus is primarily on care within the home, ensuring that patients can enjoy the comfort and familiarity of their own homes and surroundings for as long as possible.
The Community Hospice Team consists of:

Working in partnership with local GPs, District Nurses and Social Carers, the Community Hospice Team gives people across West Suffolk invaluable respite care and greater choice in how and where they want to be treated towards the end of their lives.
