Picu The Penguin
Local Newcastle Charity
What is Picu The Penguin all about?
In September 2006 a little girl whose family live in Newcastle was diagnosed with a rare life threatening heart condition called Cardiomyopathy.
Following treatment at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle, which included the fitting of an artificial heart, that little girl has now had a heart transplant and is doing well.
As we all know it costs a lot of money to fund the specialist facilities, and expert staff whose skills and dedication help save the lives of children suffering from this and other life threatening illnesses.
Picu The Penguin is a charitable organisation run entirely by volunteers and the focal point of a campaign to raise £50,000 to help fund and equip a specialised Paediatric intensive care unit within the Freeman hospital Newcastle.
For more information please visit the website and if you are able to make a donation or help with the campaign that would be fantastic.
