Im lucky enough to live right next to this place, would definitely recommend; as I work late, till 10pm I'd like to see the menu online so I can choose while I'm at work then phone my order, then just pick it up on my way home.
The halal store is amazing, the frozen curries are great for a quick lunch - I take them to work with me. They also have a good range of whole foods.
Ten out of ten all round, and the staff are so polite.

Shopping in here is a real joy because of the range of goods. I just wish the vegetables had labels saying wwhat their names were which would encourage me to buy something new. Lovely to get rare treats like mughrabia and barberries. The jellabis from this shop have got to be the freshest and best value in the entire UK.

I am lucky enough to have lived aropund the corner from the Brighton Foodstore for the last 12 years, and when the wind is in the right direction, a wonderful smell of curry from the takeaway next door is sent to tempt you away from the thing you planned to have for tea. The foodstore is packed to the gunnels with anything and everything you need to make your own asian meals. Itʼs a bit grungy inside, and the lighting does nothing for the jumble on the shelves, but if you walk slowly and look carefully, the most exotic of ingredients can be found. My only serious criticism is that they donʼt write the names of the more unusual vegetables on the boxes, I mean, I know what and Aubergine is, but what on earth is the thing that looks like a chilli covered in spikes? I asked the guy behing the counter about a month ago, why he didnʼt write the names down, and he said it was because the people who used them knew what they were, but if I wanted, he would identify them and tell me how to cook them! Maybe I can convince him that writing the names on would sell more to people like me :-) Anyway, I am very glad to live down the road. It opens til 8pm on a week night too!

Brighton Grove takeaway is by far and away the best indian food I have ever had. Too many Indian takeawayʼs offer bland food which all tastes pretty similar - Brighton Grove takeaway actually cooks food where you can taste the spices - itʼs superb! Warning though - no other indian takeaway food will match it, so I now have to take boxes of their frozen curries from the deli next door, to family in the South who canʼt get anything as good where they live.
