On Sunday July 10th, Newbury Carnival 2011 promises to be a great day out for all the family with a funfair and fete in Northcroft Park and a fantastic Parade through the centre of the town with more than 50 Parade entries.

Newbury Carnival 2011 – Going for Gold!

The Newbury Carnival will be the biggest community event in the town this year. With more than 50 parade entries the Carnival Parade and a fun-packed fete and funfair in Northcroft Park it’s going to be a great day out for all the family. Some of the highlights include:

  • Carnival Parade
  • Starts 2pm from Pound Street
  • Over 50 exciting entries - prizes for the best!
  • Carnival Queen with horse and carriage
  • Marching bands, dance groups, street entertainers
  • Harley Davison Owners ride-through

Carnival Fete
The Carnival Fete will take place on Sunday July 10th between 12 - 6pm at Northcoft Park and will feature:

  • Picnic in the Park with Elvis and live music
  • Funfair, children’s rides, arena events
  • Over 100 trade and charity stalls
  • ‘RhymeTimes’ with West Berks Libraries
  • Hog roast, ice creams and other refreshments

Can you Help?

The Carnival team are still on the lookout for help with stewarding. Stewards are required for a few hours on the day and a full briefing is provided along with a high visibility jacket. You’ll keep in touch with everyone by mobile phone or two-way radio. All stewards work in pairs and need to be 18 years of age.
