You could be forgiven for mistaking Paul Leegan as being one of Lonnie Donegan’s close relations; such are the similarities in looks and vocals. But when you consider the loyal friendship the two performers shared over the years, it’s not surprising.
Long before the popularity of tribute bands, Paul was performing a tribute to his hero Lonnie Donegan and over the years a mutual respect developed that even led to Paul standing in the wings during Lonnie’s last concert. Paul’s tribute recreates the energy and style of music that Lonnie displayed throughout his final tours.
This is to be one of the finest heartfelt tributes to Lonnie Donegan MBE 1931 - 2002
