Partners Paul and Suzanne Beech take pride in growing and raising most of the plants on site, including many unique varieties bred at the nursery. All of the plants have slow-release fertisiliser and 'intercept' in the compost for prevention of soil born insects.
Groups are welcome by appointment for guided walk and talks in the garden. From 2009 Carlton Walled Gardens will be part of the prestigious National Garden Scheme.
Carlton Walled Garden Nursery in Carlton-on-Trent is a minute from the A1, about 7 miles north of Newark. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am - 5pm and Sundays 10am - 5pm. Also open Bank Holiday Mondays.
