Having been a stay-at-home Mum for more years than I care to remember, in July 2007 I became an Independent Distributor for The Utility Warehouse Discount Club, & because my business relies for its growth on word of mouth recommendation (not costly advertising) I was advised to network as much as possible. I joined BNI Burton in January 2008, & can honestly say the Friday meetings are the highlight of my working week! From a personal development perspective, the camaraderie, support & advice Iʼve received from the other members has been priceless, & through the referrals Iʼve received my business is growing steadily. A few years ago I retired after 35 years of receiving a monthly salary to setting up as self employed. I was advised to join BNI by a friend. Although sceptical, I decided to "give it a go". A couple of years on and having just renewed my membership again I can categorically state that over 80% of my business comes via referrals from the 20 or so members in our group - "my unpaid sales force!!".
Having been a member of BNI for almost a year, I can confidently say that being involved with a group of business people of varying professions and backgrounds has helped my plumbing and heating business "Aquatherm" significantly. I receive constant business referrals from other members which invariably leads to new business, and advice on which I can call upon.
Since joining in February, BNI has provided me with an opportunity to establish valuable relationships with other local business people, who have then referred a significant amount of work to me. I cal also confidently refer my clients to them. Personally knowing the business people and what they have to offer makes all the difference. I would have no hesitation in recommending other reputable business people to join the Burton Chapter of BNI.

As a founder member of the BNI Burton chapter which serves the areas of Neath & Port Talbot I can say that I have found it to be essential in finding new business for my company. I find the weekly meetings allow me to keep in touch with the local business community and this has greatly helped my company to establish itself in a very competitive market.
BNI is great way to help your business in the local area. The group meets on a Friday morning where business is passed between the members of the group. Since becoming a member in October 2006 (8 months ago) the business generated through the group has more than paid for the joining fee ten times over!! It is a great way to finish the working week knowing that you will have new leads and contacts to make for the following week.
