Calling all runners to the Narth

The Great Narth Run takes place on Sunday 23rd June in Maryland Woods near the Narth. There’s a 2.5k fun run for aged nine and over, a 5K race for those over 11and a 10K  race for those over 15.

This will be the first year the event has been held but the aim is to make it an annual event with a series of races to appeal to runners of all ages and abilities and provide a safe and enjoyable day out for runners and spectators alike. All the races are off road on forest tracks.

Age categories

For the 2.5K the age categories are 9/10; 11/13; 14/15; 16/17 and seniors.

For the 5K the age categories are 11/12; 13/14; 15/17 and seniors.

For the 10K the age categories are 15/17; 18/20 and seniors; >40; >50; >60.

Start times

2.5K starts at 09:30;

5K at 10:15;

10K at 11:15.

Entry fees

£2.50 in advance for the 2.5K run (£3 on the day);

£4 in advance for the 5K run (£5 on the day);

£8 in advance for the 10K run (£10 on the day).

There will be prizes for:

All fun runners;

Fastest male and female runners in the 5K and 10K;

Fastest male and female finishers in the 10K from The Narth/Maryland/Pen y Fan will receive a small shield;

Overall winners (male and female) of all three races will receive a small shield;

Overall winnners in each age categories (male and female) in the 5K and 10K will receive medals.

In addition there will be spot prizes, and a runners' raffle. This will be drawn after the prizes are presented (approx. 1300 hrs).  If you're not there in person to collect your runner's raffle prize, another number will be drawn.

Race headquarters will be at The Narth Village Hall, where toilet and limited changing facilities will be available, together with refreshments for participants and spectators. Drinks stations will also be provided in the start/finish with free tea/coffee and cake for all runners. There will also be hot and cold drinks, bacon rolls, and a BBQ.

All monies raised will go to The Narth Village Hall (registered charity no: 524389) - www.thenarthhall.com   - to support village events.
