The Little English Theatre is an exciting new project from an established professional theatre company based in Worcestershire.

We’ll be bringing our own unique spin on open-air Shakespeare to audiences at Chepstow Castle on Saturday 14 July, 7.30pm.

Let us carry you away on a magical romp into the heart of the forest. Under the moonlight, enemies fall in love, an actor becomes an ass, and the fairy kingdom battles over a servant boy. All because of a mischievous fairy called Puck. Join us as we run, flit, skip, stomp, chase and stumble deeper into the woods. A hefty picnic hamper of goodies and a secret glass of sparkly are just the things to entice the nymphs, conjure up the clowns, and lure out the lovers! Plenty of audience interaction and a little live music add the finishing touches to a magical evening of theatre under the stars.

“A sustained delight” (The Stage)

“Director Stephan Bessant injects humour to keep the pace going, while an energetic cast leap in and out of various characters during a fun-filled performance” (The Scotsman)

Whilst staying true to the traditional presentation of this enchanting tale, the Little English Theatre will bring its own unique charm and flavour to Shakespeare’s most accessible and perhaps best-loved play.

Director Stephan Bessant comments: “Our productions are designed to bring a new brand of warmth, intimacy and spontaneity to outdoor theatre, transcending the boundaries between audience and performers.”

Picnic hampers in hand, our audiences will find themselves at the very heart of the action. Be prepared to find fairies, lovers and (very) rude mechanicals coming at you from all angles! This is a unique shared experience for all the family where the natural environment truly becomes the stage.

Tickets cost £15 adults / £10 children aged 6-16. Children under 6 go free.

Book in advance for special rates! £12.00 adults / £9 children aged 6-16: via the Chepstow Festival booking office on 01291 625981 or through our website at www.thelittleenglishtheatre.co.uk
