about us
The Coach House is a traditional, family run English restaurant in the heart of Monmouth. We offer the best in great British food from Sunday lunch to afternoon tea, with classic lunchtime and evening menus. We also have four star bed and breakfast accommodation in our recently renovated rooms. Stay with us while you explore the Wye Valley - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - or the Forest of Dean with its ancient traditions and breathtaking scenery.
The Coach House is owned by Derek, Sandra, Sarah and Richard Harrhy. Our aim is to provide you with great food in a friendly atmosphere and help make your visit to Monmouth a memorable one.
Our menus feature fresh, locally sourced meat and fish, homemade soup and we bake our own bread every day. We change the menus regularly and the specials every day. We also have a tempting selection of homemade cakes you can spoil yourself with over afternoon tea. And when the weather is fine you can enjoy al-fresco dining in our sheltered courtyard.

We love them because... we have the best Sunday roast ever at the Coach House, Monmouth.
I travel in France a lot of the year but the sirloin steak was perfectly cooked perfectly most rare to my order. The service was quietly excellent and the bill was reasonable.

This is a family run restaurant that has a lovely feel to it. There's a beautiful little courtyard to sit in on warmer days and the restaurant has a welcoming feel to it.

We use the Coach House every few months for our csma meetings. We have a meal before we start which is always excellent, nicely cooked and good portions. I must say three things of The Coach House - Excellent food, Good Service, A pleasant atmosphere.
