What will I be doing?
Collecting day
Starting at 10am from the Great Linford Arts Workshop you will then be out and about around the City of Milton Keynes collecting basket-weaving materials (please see attached guidance notes). We will take you to locations that offer a range of hedgerow materials in a variety of colours and give you guidance on harvesting these materials.
The materials collected will then be stored at the Great Linford Arts Workshop until the making days in March.
§Please note participants will be required to use and share their own vehicles for the collecting day
Making days
Two days of making from 10am - 5pm each day in art room and 3D room at the Great Linford Arts Workshop.
Sheila and Helen will demonstrate and guide you through a range of weaving projects suitable for your level of experience, encouraging you to explore and experiment with the range of colours and textures the materials offer. The hedgerow materials you have collected can also be combined with farmed willow creating baskets and structures for both indoor and outdoor use that vary in scale and form.
