New owners and they really have put some effort in here. Friendly attentive staff, new menu(great food) decoration and refurbishment as far as the car park and 5* hotel style porcelain tiled loos in a local country style pub!! I liked it that much I'm taking 20 people there Saturday night!

This small, very friendly pub, on the banks of the canal, offers high quality food at affordable prices and caters for any occassion. Birthday parties, wedding receptions, funeral wakes, intimate dinners, bar food, you name, the same high quality of service, food and friendliness is ever apparant. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Well done to the Esticks and their staff.

I have used The Plough @ Simpson for the past five years and the service now is just the same as when it first opened - friendly and personnel. The food is of exceptional quality and fresh. One big advantage is that at lunch time you can look on the web site, select your food and order over the telephone with an arrival time, and within five minutes of arrival your food is ready ( great for a limited time lunchbreak ). Very useful!

This is a fabulous little pub tucked away in the village of Simpson. The staff are friendly and create a welcoming atmosphere. We've been twice now, once in summer, which was great as the garden backs on to the canal and we had a lovely fresh meal whilst enjoying the sun. And again just last week. On both occassions we had good service and a great time. Lovely old-fashioned english pub. I will definitely return.

If you want a friendly atmosphere and great food that's reasonably priced then head to the Plough in Simpson. In the summer it's great to sit by the canal and relax. In the winter it's a cosy, welcoming pub that serves the best food in the area. All credit to Ian, Claire and Mark who work so hard to make sure all their visitors, young or old, have a really memorable visit to their pub. Well done to all!

We discovered The Plough at Simpson several years ago and highly recommend it. The service is always excellent and the food fantastic. Particularly fond of the Sunday roasts as the meat is of very high quality and always cooked to perfection.

The Plough at Simpson manages to combine the warm welcome of a village local, with a first class restaurant. We've eaten many times both in the restaurant or from the bar menu and the quality is always great. Sunday lunch is superb - fresh veg, Marks special roasties, and quality choice of meats. Long may this pub be run by Clair and Ian! The garden runs up to the canal, so it's great for a relaxing outdoor bevvie too.

Went to the plough on our wedding anniversary & the trio of pork was delicious.
Had to go back for more as my wife enjoyed her dish but wanted to go so she could try out what i'd eaten.
We were just as happy second time around & didn't need an excuse to go!
We'll be back for more!

Just had Sunday lunch at The Plough and thoroughly enjoyed it, good value for money. Finished off by taking our coffee out to the garden to watch the narrow boats on the canal. Having now sampled their Sunday roast can't wait to return one evening to enjoy the al a carte menu. Well worth a visit.
