Generally all their clients are excluded from traditional and mainstream training provision and employment options because of their level of ability and associated emotional, behavioural and health problems.

Clients who contact MK Snap do so from choice, not as part of any criteria to receive a statutory benefit.  Independent effort is encouraged but work is carried out on a team basis with clients helping and supporting each other.

The training offered by MK Snap centres around the development of:

The charity is provided with tasks by local companies.  They are not a factory and clients are never pressured or given time critical responsibilities, nor do they have to do the same job every day.  The aim is provide stimulating, supportive training at all times.

Work is the focus for development;  a simple task such as preparing a mail shot provides challenges for clients with complex learning needs and difficulties.  The woodwork shop enables the production of high quality wooden goods for sale.

In some cases clients can gain or regain full employment thanks to the care and training at MK Snap but every client has a productive role whatever their future direction.  The charity’s work benefits not just the individual but the whole family and in turn the wider community.  Many companies employ their clients on a part or full time basis while some have also had the confidence to volunteer their skills to help other organisations and charities.
