Brain Tumour Research is the only national UK charity dedicated to funding sustainable and groundbreaking research into the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40.

What we do

We support the UK’s largest dedicated group of laboratory-based scientists progressing world-class research into brain tumours at our four dedicated Centres of Excellence, working tirelessly to glean new layers of understanding about this devastating disease.

Why fund raise for us?
Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. Yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research is invested into brain tumour research. We are dedicated to granting 100% of our funds to long-term life-saving research into all types of brain tumour.

Where does the money go?
In collaboration with our member charities and fundraising groups, we raised £4 million in 2014 to support vital research and services for patients and families. Our mission is to raise £7 million every year in order to fund seven such Centres. Join in with our dynamic and exciting fundraising campaigns and help fund the fight. Together we can get closer to a cure.

How can I help?

Wear A Hat Day is the premier brain tumour awareness event in the UK and takes place every March during Brain Tumour Awareness month. Save the date for 2015: Friday 27th March! Whether you don a silly hat to go to work, school or university or organise a larger event such as a bake sale, quiz or record attempt (!) you will be helping us raise vital funds and awareness. Register now!

Host for Hope is our summer campaign. However we believe you can have a good get together any time of year! You could host a ‘cash for coffee’ morning, a ‘dine and donate’ evening or perhaps even a ‘bake off for brain tumour research'! Whatever plans you’re cooking up, every penny you raise will go to our life-saving research. Register now!

Conquer It Together Join our #FightingForce by stepping outside your comfort zone to achieve a goal or realise a long-held ambition; organise a team event to reach new heights of endurance, the finish line of an extreme challenge or simply to have.
The Hope Tree Every December we ask our supporters and friends if they would like to make a donation and place a bauble with their own personal Message of Hope on a special Christmas tree at one of our Research Centres of Excellence. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the 2014 campaign; we hope you will help us make the trees even more dazzling in 2015! Read more here.
