Xscape Milton Keynes has seen a phenomenal 84,000 extra visitors to its entertainment destination over this years 6 week summer school holiday period. This increase demonstrates that the destination is attracting large visitor numbers from further afield as a regional tourist attraction in it’s own right. With more business opening within the scheme before the end of the year, it is further demonstrating the popularity of the regions jewel in the crown as an entertainment provider.
PY Gerbeau, Chief Executive of operators X-Leisure, commented: “We have seen a consistent increase in footfall by about 10% over the summer holidays from the previous year. We are delighted that Xscape Milton Keynes, in its 10th year, has firmly established itself as a popular attraction. We believe we have the best mix of leisure and retail anywhere in the UK and these figures support this and make us optimistic that we are on course for a strong year ahead.”
The centre’s new lettings - Shake a Shake (which opened in August) and Chimichanga (scheduled to open in November) demonstrate the strength of the sector.
With the destination celebrating its forthcoming 10th anniversary it has consistently delivered new and innovative concepts over the past 10 years anchored by the USP of the indoor real snow slope and a critical mass of other exciting activities.
