Xscape Milton Keynes has picked up the award for Business of the Year 2010 at the prestigious Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.
This recognises the destination as the UK’s premier retail and leisure attraction, which coincides with Xscape Milton Keynes celebrating its 10th birthday this month.
PY Gerbeau, Chief Executive of Xscape, said “We’re absolutely thrilled with this accolade. This is a great achievement and acknowledges not only all of our staff and tenant partners’ commitment to the business but the loyalty of our visitors – over the past twelve months and over the last decade! It firmly establishes Xscape Milton Keynes not only as the region’s top leisure destination but as a national landmark.”
The judges commended Xscape, saying “Their core aim is to ensure that the venue is accessible for all to enjoy.”
As Xscape entered its tenth year, it has continued to introduce new concepts and innovate. Several new businesses are due to open in the coming months, including Mexican restaurant Chimichanga and family favourite Harvester, and Xscape is looking to the future with exciting new development plans which will enhance the leisure experience with the addition of a casino.
Since opening, Xscape has attracted in excess of 50 million visitors and 2010 will be a bumper year, having seen footfall increase over 15% year on year during the summer.
