Retail Trust, the principle charity for the retail industry, recently launched their Search for A Star Campaign, a nationwide talent search looking for the best singers, dancers and comedians that are hidden in the UK’s retail sector. Now that the application process has closed, over 100 acts will be performing live at 5 locations around the country.  On Saturday 31st October the first live heat will be taking place at Xscape, Milton Keynes with Blue’s Antony Costa and Atomic Kitten’s Liz McClarnon heading the panel of judges.

Four finalists will perform in front of 1,100 major retailers at the prestigious Retail Trust London Ball at Grosvenor House on 25th January 2010, receiving A-list celebrity treatment, have a chance to be taken on the books of one of the world's most successful entertainment agencies CAA, which works with The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent's finalists and win a trip to Monaco courtesy of Monaco Tourist Board, BA City Flyer and Novotel.

Heart FM will be broadcasting live at Xscape Milton Keynes from midday, then at 2pm the show will really get going as each act performs in front of the judges and a live audience.

With acts from House of Fraser, New Look, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, Matalan, Jaegar, Austin Reed, Hallet, Signet, Cargo, Monsoon Accessorize and Tates all have acts competing in the ‘Battle of the stores.’

Sir Stuart Rose, Executive Chairman of Marks & Spencer, takes up the challenge, "Retail Trust Search For A Star gives retail staff a chance to shine and have their moment in the limelight - M&S will definitely be taking the opportunity to show off our talents.”

Nigel J L Rothband, CEO Retail Trust says, It will be great for the performers to have, not just their families and friends, but their work colleagues and companies rooting for them in the competition. Plus, of course we do want to raise awareness about Retail Trust and let everyone in retail know that we are there when they need or their families need us

It’s an afternoon not to be missed and a chance to help discover the UK’s next biggest thing!
