How the weather has affected business in Marlow

Hooray the snow looks like it is finally clearing away.  As we all manage to end what has seemed a long Christmas break, what has been the effect on businesses in Marlow.

I spoke to the General manager at Harleyford Golf Club during the week. It's really quiet for him as even the keenest golfer can't play with 8 inches of snow on the greens.

However the owner of Widlogs who supply firewood isn't complaining.
"When the weather man says the ‘S’ word in his forecast my phone melts. A white Xmas in the middle of the coldest snowiest period in 30 years has made things very very busy. Haven’t even had time to bank the cheques – I think I have done 4 months work in 4 weeks."

It has been both good and bad for us at thebestofmarlow.  Good because people have had a chance to think about marketing strategy for the coming year and we have had a steady stream of enquiries from businesses who want to know how thebestofmarlow can help their business in 2010.  However the snow means that the installation of a phone line in our new office can't be completed due to the weather.  As soon as that's in we will be moving in.
