Funding Opportunities To Help Reduce Anti Social Behaviour

This is a message for all Watch members and Key Individuals in Harborough District on behalf of Sarah Pickering – Anti-social Behaviour Officer for Harborough District Council.

Is your area suffering from anti-social behaviour?
Do your local young people have nothing to do in the area?
Do you run a club or group that could put on an activity to encourage community harmony?

Harborough’s Community Safety Partnership are inviting you to apply for money for diversionary projects to help prevent ASB in 2010/11.  For example last year the Youth Service ran a number of evenings in Broughton Ashley’s Frolesworth recreation ground with the Chill–out bus and a barbeque, giving them the opportunity access information and engaging in arts and crafts. This resulted in a reduced number of complaints about asb at those times.

Perhaps you would be able to run an activity in the Summer to divert young people away from underage drinking on the streets.

If your area is suffering graffiti, could you arrange for a professional graffiti artist to start a graffiti wall which the young people could continue and feel some sense of ownership?

If you have a project you would like to put forward please contact:
