Follow the thread of Manchester's famous cotton industry with experienced presenters on a tour at the Museum of Science and Industry. See how cotton is processed from it's raw state to a piece of calico cloth and go back time 150 years to experience the sights and sounds of Manchester's working mills.
Find out what life was like for thousands of mill workers - some of the presenters at the museum even have first hand experience of working in a mill. Learn about thw working conditions where respiratory diseases were common and children as young as five were employed to sweep under the dangerous machines.
