The Five Stars Appeal has raised millions of pounds over thirty five years for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, helping children in the North West with life changing and life threatening illnesses, and its contributions have made a significant difference to the treatment and care of children and their families. But as with all charity organisations, the need to raise funds remains an ongoing one.
The Manchester run is Britain’s most popular 10k event, taking in many of Manchester's most famous landmarks, and attracts a host of famous faces running amongst the great and the good of Manchester - don't be surprised to find yourself jogging alongside familiar faces from Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. The run will be broadcast live on BBC1, and there are few events which generate such an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. Aching legs and exhaustion pale into insignificance in comparison to the feeling of achievement as you reach the finish line.
