Not only do the businesses concerned benefit from and genuinely value your appreciation, a testimonial can be invaluable to us when trying to find a company we can trust and rely on. There are whole websites dedicated to comparing and saving and recommending businesses, and there are few of us now who purchase a product without checking 'customer reviews' on line. The comparison websites are all well and good but often lack the personal touch, or do not rate anyone in your area. Purchasing a specific product is a tangible thing so reviews are generally written directly relating to value for money, performance, technical specifications etc.
When we are looking to allow a total stranger into our home to carry out work, or to let somebody loose on our crowning glory with a pair of scissors, we want to hear from people who have had direct experience.
