Exciting Times as the Tour of Britain Returns to Malvern on 10th September

As The Tour of Britain passes through Malvern, a varied programme of events and activities are being planned to make certain that this will be a great place to come and watch whilst giving people the opportunity to have a go at, or cheer on, time trials up Church Street.

The initial list of activities planned during tour week are as follows-

Wednesday 10th September

  • Church Street Hill Climb, 9-2pm - Uphill cycling time trial
  • Vintage Cycle display, Abbey Road, 9-2 -
  • Chase Brass Band, Belle Vue Island
  • British Cycling /Malvern Cycle Sport - Watt Bikes, Abbey Road, 9-2 
  • Malvern Cycle Sport MTB Skills Coaching Session, Rosebank Gardens, 9-2
  • Cycle stalls and Cycle groups, Abbey Road, 9-2
  • Mr Doo – Cycle extravaganza, across town, 10-2 
  • Upton Events - TBC
  • WI Anniversary Event - Handover of WI centenary baton at British Camp 12 noon 

Thursday 11th Sept

  • New British film ‘Bicycle’ showing at Malvern Theatres. 8.15pm 
  • ‘Come and Try it’ 5.5 mile club Time Trial at Hanley Swan at 6.45pm 

Saturday 13th Sept

  • Malvern Cycle Sport – Birchwood Bash MTB Coaching Session, Storridge

Sunday 14th Sept

  • Malvern Cycle Sport – Birchwood Bash MTB Race Event, Storridge
  • Elgar Vintage Ride – Start Belle Vue Island, Malvern Town Centre - Midday 

The Tour will generate a great deal of local interest and as it is a free spectator event, please feel free to watch from key locations and along the route in general.
