Since that time the county town stage has continued to attract audiences from across Kent eager to enjoy the array of arts and entertainment laid on at the intimate theatre venue.

The Hazlitt Theatre is also home to Maidstone’s Hazlitt Youth Theatre, now in its tenth year.

 

One of the most popular youth performing arts companies in this part of the country, Hazlitt Youth Theatre has over 160 members aged from six to 18.

The company’s weekly workshops on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday give young people a chance to learn about the theatre life, covering:

  • Singing
  • Lighting
  • Sound
  • Design

 

Hazlitt Youth Theatre puts on regular performances to give its members a chance in the spotlight, with previous shows including The Witches and The Little Shop of Horrors.
