This years World Custard Pie Championship will be taking place this Saturday here in Maidstone at Coxheath Village Hall. 19 teams from all around the world will be coming here to compete for the coveted title.
The Championships began in 1967, organised by Councillor Mike Fitzgerald to raise money for the Coxheath Village Hall and have being going strong ever since, travelling around the world and now it's back in Coxheath, Maidstone for 2011.
The funpacked FREE day out begins at 12:30 with 30/40 stalls with games, animals, things to eat and drink, a Parade, childrens entertainment (as if pie throwing wont be entertaining enough), skipping championships and lots lots more.
The World Custard Pie throwing Championship begins at 2pm where each team member will be throwing pies at their opponents. (sounds brilliant doesn't it?!). 5 pies in the first heat, 7 pies in the semi-finals and a maximum 10 pies in the final. So don't be late and miss out on all the messy fun!
