Sittingbourne father of two Donal Watkin is swapping his old mountain bike for a fantastic brand new hybrid boardman after winning the Kent Air Ambulance Competition. Kindly donated by Halfords as part of the charity's Double 100 Bike Challenge, Donal will be using his fantastic new prize for a charity London to Paris bike ride in September in support of Demelza House.
Donal visited the helicopter base in Marden with his wife and sons last week to collect his prize from Halfords store manager, Lee Homden. He said "I think the trust does a wonderful job and seeing the helicopter and meeting the crew brought home what a vital service it is".
Over £12,000 was raised by more than 80 cyclists taking part in last month's Double 100 Bike Challenge, making it a great success for the lifesaving charity.
