With an expected 20,000 people this year, 200 plus boats moored along the river and loads of new events, the Maidstone River Festival is promising to be better than ever! The Mayor of Maidstone will be opening the Festival at 11am with a procession of boats and starting the day off with a fantastic array of entertainment, music, dance, Competitions and lots lots more. Along the river all day long into the evening with a Spectacular Fireworks Display Finale at 10.20pm. The Maidstone Riverside is going to be transformed for the day.
In front of Drakes there'll be a Double Band Stage with 13 bands playing live all day long!
at Brenchley Gardens with the help of Invicta Girls Grammar school there'll be young school bands raising money for charity.
The Millenium Park are having a 'Family Zone' run by the Maidstone Lions which includes entertainment from local dance schools, fancy dress competition and entertainment.
The Archbishops Palace hope to have a Euorpean Food & Craft Market with a food court serving Carribean, Nepalese, Chinese, traditional BBQ, Hog Roast, Crepes. Also children's slides & face painting.
Behind the David Lloyd building will be a funfair (from Friday til late Saturday)
This year the Maidstone River Festival is in 'Movie Theme' and are attempting to break the Guinness World Record of the most DRACULAS in one place so get your fangs and capes out and come along to be part of this record breaking attempt.
