Mother’s Day is just around the corner, but fear not help is here!
Do you want to give your mum a special treat on Mother’s Day but can’t think what to do for her? Or if you’re not going to see her, do you want to send her something memorable that says “thank you for being the best mum in the world”?
Mother’s Day this year is on Sunday 3rd April and is the perfect time to show your mum how much she means to you. Pamper her by taking her a cup of tea in bed with perhaps a small posy of flowers from the garden – but be careful picking the flowers and check the clock! Many a mother has been woken at day-break by eager children when it might be her only chance for a lie-in and remember, the clocks will have gone forward by then and dawn will be very early! If you’re not allowed to boil the kettle don’t wake Dad to do it, instead forward plan and get him to book a table for a slap up Sunday lunch at any one of a number of restaurants and hotels in and around Maidstone that are organising special Mother’s Day lunches – Mum will welcome the break from the kitchen! The Tudor Park Hotel at Bearsted is hosting a three course Sunday carvery with live Jazz music for £27 per person: to book call 01622 632006. Or you could try The Hop Farm at Beltring near Maidstone which also has a carvery Sunday lunch on Mother’s Day at £26 per head, £16 for children aged 3-12, £6 for under-threes: call 01622 870826 for full details and to book your table. These are just two suggestions but there are lots of other places with a Mother’s Day Menu in and around Maidstone. Google Mother’s Day in Maidstone to find more!
Failing lunch out get someone else to help you do the cooking and washing up at home to give your Mum a special thank you for everything she does for you on every other day of the year.
A small gift is also hugely popular with mothers everywhere! Whether it’s something you’ve made yourself, at school or at home, she will love it. You could also go along to This Art of Mine at Little Budds Farm, Coldblow Lane, Thurnham, Maidstone ME14 3LR where they are holding a Mother’s Day Gift Making Workshop on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th March: for full details and availability call 01622 735312. Or you could try Renaissance Crafts at 16 Starnes Court (off Union Street) in central Maidstone (ME14 1EB) which is open every day from 10am-5.30pm where you could create a unique Mother’s Day gift by painting some pottery – call 01622 750467 to find out more. But these things take a bit of forethought so get your thinking cap on and start planning your individual present now!
Mums everywhere love receiving flowers and if you can’t present them yourself then contact your local florist or go to www.serenataflowers.com and arrange for a beautiful bouquet of flowers to be sent to your mum – serenataflowers will even deliver them on Sunday 3rd April itself.
So just a few ideas for how to give your Mum an extra special time this Mother’s Day. Start thinking about it now to ensure it’s a perfect day!
Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers everywhere.
Until next time
