Berkshire's longest running market

Maidenhead Farmers' Market is Berkshire's longest running market. It is a FARMA certified market which means it is run according to a set of rules that guarantees only local producers may attend and everything is grown or processed by the person selling. The market was started by Maidenhead Friends of the Earth in September 1999.

Around 25 - 30 stallholders attend regularly each month with a wide offering of local produce: beef, pork, lamb, game, pies, speciality breads and baked goods, cheeses, poultry, free range eggs, fresh trout, home made cakes, fruit and vegetables in season, juice, honey, preserves, herbs and plants. There is also a selection of organic meat, bread and some veg is available throughout the year. Producers welcome the opportunity to talk to their customers and supply information about production methods employed.

Visit the tea stall at the market for further information and to sign up to our Customer Loyalty Scheme. You can qualify for a £5 voucher to spend at the market after six visits!

March 2009 saw the launch of the market's own branded "eco-shoppers".  Customers were happy to receive free bags and carriers which will help cut down on the numbers of plastic bags used as they are reusable.
