PIANO MARATHON INVITES ENTHUSIASTS TO HELP RAISE MONEY FOR BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION.
Sheargolds, a local piano company is inviting pianists of all ages and levels to take part in a six-hour continuous piano performance at their Maidenhead showroom on 13th November.
“The idea is to get a variety of players involved, to perform for five minutes each on a brand new piano and raise money for the British Heart Foundation charity, which we consider to be an important cause. It doesn’t matter how good you are – all you need is enthusiasm!”- says Steven Palmer, General Manager of Sheargold Pianos Ltd, who are hosting the event. Dedicated to encouraging pianists everywhere from young beginners to professional concert performers, the company is regularly involved in charitable projects and community events, as well as offering a wide range of services from piano sales and hire to tuning and transport. “Sometimes people think music is all ‘scales and exams’, but it’s actually exciting and positive. The fact is music brings people together and in this case for a fantastic cause and due to the great success of last year’s marathon, we thought we’d do it again.”
This event, taking place from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday 13th November 2010, will give many beginners a great chance to give their first performance in an relaxed and informal situation. The showroom is also open as usual to anyone who would like to pay a visit to listen to the piano marathon or take a look at the rest of the range, and light refreshments will be available to everyone who attends.
Each performer is asked to donate £1, and Sheargolds will be donating 10% of all sales taken on the day to the British Heart Foundation. There will also be an opportunity for those listening to donate.
