This week the media has been full of stories about clone towns. British High streets are dominated by shops run by retail chains. Maidenhead has it's fair share of these shops, I'm not knocking it I use many of them, but it is still nice to find something different. Do you think Maidenhead qualifies as a clone town or are there sufficient independant shops to set it apart?
Most people like the idea of small independant retailers but when was the last time you used one? It seems we are often drawn by names we know rather than give a less well known brand our custom. Often the smaller retailer and indeed business will go out of their way to help. Most small retailers open their shops because they have knowledge of their product. In order to survive in these difficult times that go the extra mile to provide great service. The surprise is that often not only do you get the great service but the price is competitive too.
Our aim at thebestofmaidenhead is to find and promote the best local businesses. We know they exist in Maidenhead and we need you to help us find them. If you know of a good local shop or any other great local business why not recommend them. You can also support local business by taking part in our Buy Local survey.
