I use the A404 a lot so imagine my surprise on Saturday when I came back from Windsor and found it closed. I hadn't intended to return that way but decided at the last minute to do so. Approaching from the A308(M) there were no signe saying the road would be closed for 36 hours.
I know the work needs to be done and there have been signs for weeks notifying drivers of a closure in July, and lots of them. For this closure there were a distinct lack of signs and the only one I saw was at the closure itself. Judging by the traffic I wasn't the only one caught out either.
