One of four museums in the Silk Heritage Trust, The Silk Heritage Centre traces the origins of silk, from China to Britain along the silk route, through to the development of silk mills in the town. The Silk Heritage Centre features a wide variety of costumes, textiles and accessories, an award-winning audio visual presentation telling the story of silk in Macclesfield and a range of educational field trips.
