I am a member of several groups and organisations in local area but F4M is truly special. For a group which has been going such a relatively short period it has achieved so much.
The people who had the vision to begin the group have worked so hard in many ways and through their energy and tireless endeavour have inspired many others. Despite a huge amount of work at the computer and telephone; contacting media to publicise the aims of F4M,giving talks, stalls at various events; preparing and planting community gardens and supporting others in a practical way, this group remains energetic, optimistic, inspirational, welcoming, supportive and, best of all FUN!

It is really great to be involved with this new and expanding volunteer group as I have a keen interest in growing and gardening.
We work as part of a team and everyone always has something to contribute so it is a really good way of socialising too whilst having lots of fresh air and exercise.
The organisation is helping more and more people in and around Macclesfield to become aware of the benefits of growing your own and also sourcing locally produced food products.
It is really rewarding to see what we have built and planted grow with the seasons. We are also having lots of fun at the same time and building friendships within our groups.

This is a real grass roots organisation, one that is driven by the shared enthusiasm of a bunch of people that want to see local Macc people grow and eat more locally produced food. Within a few months of being involved, I know 20 or 30 people I didn't know before and together we are helping people reconnect with where their food comes from. It's a great organisation to be involved in.

Food4Macc is a group of energetic people who are passionate about local food. The community gardens they created have shown many people what can be grown even in a small space.
They have even dressed as carrots to spread the word about the importance of growing your own fruit and veg and supporting local farmers and producers.
At their friendly monthly meetings I have discovered how easy it is to grow my own vegetables and fruit, and they have organised talks about hen and beekkeeping too.
Their enthusiasm is contagious and I am now committed to shopping locally and growing as much of my own food as possible.
