Woodcock Farm Shop

The Barber family have farmed 700 acres at Woodcock Farm in Rothley, near Loughborough, for four generations. Their farm shop on Loughborough Road (just off the A6) sells a variety of vegetables grown on the farm, as well as catering for horse and pet owners, and gardeners.
In the large and well-stocked farm shop they sell:
For your plate:
- A wide range of fresh vegetables and fruit from local allotment associations and from Leicester market
- Wilja, Marfona, Maris Bard and Desiree potatoes grown on the farm
- Locally-produced jams, chutneys and honey
- Eggs from our own free-range hens
- Game in season (dressed and frozen)
For your animals:
- A wide range of horse feeds
- Hay and straw produced on the farm
- Feeds for goats, poultry, small pets and birds
- DIY livery - 28 stables available from £15 per week
- Delivery to your stables arranged
For your garden:
- Topsoil
- Mulch, woodchip and manure
- Delivery no problem for large quantities
For your real fire:
- Barn-dry hardwood and softwood logs at half the price of petrol station logs!
- Logs cut small to fit in wood-burners
- Coal, Coalite, firelighters and kindling
- Large loads delivered

We always buy logs from Woodcock Farm when we get a chance, theyʼre great value and always dry. Beware though - for £2.50 (or £3.50 for ʼgourmetʼ hardwood!) you get a MASSIVE bag so make some space in the boot!
Even the most mundane vegetables from here manage to be delicious; Iʼve never enjoyed cabbage before I bought one from the farm shop (on my wifeʼs orders!). Now I make sure I drop in for veggies when Iʼm in Rothley. Also the bags of logs are three times the size of those in the local garage, yet still cheaper, and actually dry and worth burning! All in all, a lovely place to shop.
Good, friendly ʼold fashionedʼ service. Excellent fresh produce every time. After school once a week we head to Woodcocks to stock up on logs for the fire. My children enjoy the trip and know there are places like this still around! BUY LOCAL.

Woodcock Farm Shop sells a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. Their potatoes are home grown and they sell eggs from their own hens. They stock a good range of horse and pet feeds along with shavings, straw and hay for bedding, even your guinea pig is catered for! You can even get mulch and bark for your garden along with a selection of plants. The shop is well laid out, produce is always fresh and the staff are friendly and helpful. - LW, Anstey
