LighterLife Raises Over £3000 for Rainbows

Tireless Debbie Ford of LighterLife in Loughborough not only runs one of the best weight-loss programmes in the country, but has also found time to raise over £3000 for Rainbows - here's the story from Debbie herself:

"Last week, myself and Anne "Miss March" Faulkner had the wonderful task of delivering a cheque for £3,130 to Rainbows Childrens Hospice. The money was raised from the sales of the 2010 LighterLife Loughbourgh calendar featuring myself and 10 other clients who collectively had lost 78 stones in weight.  Due to the generosity of those clients and the people who subsequently either bought the calendar or made donations, we were able to hand over this fantastic amount.  On hand to receive the cheque were the PR Manager, Scott Lea and Bridie Gutteridge who gave us a very warm welcome.

Rainbows costs £3.8M per year simply to run, and that's before any extentions are built or new equipment is bought.  The Government funding they receive is less than 10% of that figure, so every penny counts.

The Hospice is bright, warm and welcoming and offers support not only to the children but also their families, and the facility is excellent - including the play equipment whch I couldn't resist having a go on - some people never grow up!"
